Highlights
Same-store sales inched 0.1 percent higher in the Jan. 30 week according to ICSC-Goldman's tally. But the year-on-year rate was held down by a tough comparison, up only 0.4 percent for one of the lowest rates of the last six months. The year-on-year comparison for the full month of January is plus 1.0 percent, well down from ICSC-Goldman's December rate of plus 3.6 percent. But changes in year-on-year rates don't correspond directly to changes in month-to-month rates, here December being boosted by a weak year-ago comparison and January held back by a strong year-ago comparison. ICSC-Goldman doesn't offer a month-to-month comparison but Redbook does. Redbook will be posted at 8:55 a.m. ET.
