Highlights
There's not much life in the retail sector based on ICSC-Goldman whose year-on-year same-store sales rate is only plus 2.7 percent in the March 24 week. For the last month, this indicator's year-on-year rate has been sagging at one-year lows and near the very worst levels of the recovery. Details in the latest report include a minus 0.5 percent week-on-week dip and comments that this year's earlier Easter (April 8 vs April 24) may give a specific boost to apparel sales. The year-on-year rate for rival indicator Redbook, in contrast to ICSC-Goldman, has been on the climb for the last month. Redbook will be posted later this morning at 8:55 a.m. ET.
