Highlights
With Easter over and amid unseasonably cool weather, retail sales softened in the April 14 week according to ICSC-Goldman's same-store sales index which fell 1.0 percent. The year-on-year rate of plus 3.2 percent is the slowest in three weeks and below the four-week average of 3.7 percent. Redbook will be posted at 8:55 a.m. ET.

Definition
This weekly measure of comparable store sales at major retail chains, published by the International Council of Shopping Centers, is related to the general merchandise portion of retail sales. It accounts for roughly 10 percent of total retail sales.
