Unless the economy visibly weakens, the Fed isn't likely to kick in with QE3. At least this is the conclusion of many from the latest FOMC minutes. The Dow, ending at 12,604, slipped to session lows in first reaction to the minutes before trimming its loss to 0.4 percent. Gold ended steady near $1,580 with oil holding in the mid-$80 range at $86. Rates and the dollar were little changed.
