Same-store sales were mixed at best in the June 29 week, up 0.6 percent compared with a very weak June 22 week and up a very thin 1.9 percent year-on-year. ICSC-Goldman says sales were weaker across nearly all retail segments in the week. Redbook, which has been trending slightly higher than ICSC-Goldman, will post its results at 8:55 a.m. ET.
This weekly measure of comparable store sales at major retail chains, published by the International Council of Shopping Centers, is related to the general merchandise portion of retail sales. It accounts for roughly 10 percent of total retail sales.
