Highlights
Like ICSC-Goldman earlier this morning, Redbook reports a surge in shopping in the December 21 week. The week's year-on-year pace of plus 3.9 percent is the best of the month though the trend so far for the month, like the trend in ICSC-Goldman, is no better than flat compared to November. Shoppers are picking up the pace going into Christmas, but indications so far is that growth in holiday shopping has been no more than moderate at best.
