Store Sales Y/Y change1.1 %1.4 %

Highlights
Same store sales were up 1.4 percent year-on-year in the February 25 week, continuing the sales gain acceleration that persisted throughout February after a sluggish January to post the strongest reading of the year. Month-to-date same store sales again increased the gain on the prior month and were up 0.7 percent, an 0.2 percentage point improvement from the prior week. Year-on-year, monthly sales were up 1.0 percent, also the strongest level of the year. The sales gain acceleration shown by retailers in Redbook's sample continues to point to strong core retail sales for February and indicates probable strength for the upcoming month as well.
