EIA Natural Gas Report
Released On 8/31/2017 10:30:00 AM For wk8/25, 2017
Weekly Change43 bcf30 bcf

Natural gas in storage rose 30 billion cubic feet in the August 25 week to 3,155 bcf. The twenty-second consecutive weekly build since the traditional end of the heating season (and ten weeks before the end of the injection season) was well below the 51 bcf increase in the year ago week but in line with consensus forecasts. The increase put stocks 7.0 percent below their level last year at this time, when inventories were still swollen due to low consumption during an exceptionally mild weather heating season. But in a longer-term comparison, stocks were 0.3 percent higher than the 5-year average for this time of year and remain in the upper half of the historical range.

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) provides weekly information on natural gas stocks in underground storage for the U.S. and five regions of the country. The level of inventories helps determine prices for natural gas products.  Why Investors Care
