Highlights
The February employment report looks to be a blockbuster based on ADP's estimate for giant growth of 298,000 in private payrolls. This would be the biggest gain since October 2015 and one of the very largest of the cycle. ADP isn't always followed closely but its call last month for outsized growth in January payrolls did prove correct.

Recent History Of This Indicator
ADP's employment estimate very accurately predicted January's strength, and it was outlier strength, for private payrolls which rose 237,000. At a consensus 183,000, forecasters see significant give back for February's payrolls in what however would still be sizable growth.

Definition
The ADP national employment report is computed from a subset of ADP records that represent approximately 400,000 U.S. business clients and approximately 23 million U.S. employees working in all private industrial sectors. ADP contracted with Moody’s Analytics to compute a monthly report that would ultimately help to predict monthly nonfarm payrolls from the Bureau of Labor Statistic's employment situation. The ADP report only covers private (excluding government) payrolls.  Why Investors Care

[Chart]
