No change is no surprise from the Federal Reserve which held rates steady and downplayed how slow first-quarter consumer spending was, saying the fundamentals point to a snap back. Stocks were narrowly mixed with the Dow posting a fractional gain to 20,957. Treasury yields inched higher while the dollar index gain a solid 0.4 percent to 99.32. Oil was little changed near $47.50 though gold fell a sizable $20 to $1,240.
