Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index
Released On 7/12/2018 9:45:00 AM For wk7/8, 2018
PriorActual
Level57.6 58.0

Highlights
Capping a 4-week run, the consumer comfort index is back near its April peak, up 4 tenths in the July 8 week to 58.0. The strength suggests that tariffs and trade wars are having no significant effect on the U.S. consumer. Watch for consumer sentiment on tomorrow's calendar, a report that, unlike consumer comfort, is showing slight trade-war related erosion.

Definition
The Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index is a weekly, random-sample survey tracking Americans' views on the condition of the U.S. economy, their personal finances and the buying climate. Details are available only to subscribers. In May 2014, the series range was changed to zero to 100 from minus 100 to plus 100.
