Market Reflections

December 1, 2017
Reports that former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn has agreed to cooperate with investigators into Russian election interference offset what appears to be pending Senate passage of a tax cut bill, a key vote that would send the bill back to the House for approval. Stocks fell on the Flynn news but then recovered into the close though the Dow posted a small decline on the day but a still very strong 2.9 percent climb on the week to 24,231. Economic news included another month of strength for factory indications and a jump in construction spending as the nonresidential sector finally showed some strength.
