Stocks opened lower on growing talk of new tariffs but rallied at the end for a 0.2 percent gain in the Dow to 24,307. Oil is steady near $74 with gold continuing to sink, down another $10 and near $1,240. The dollar index firmed to 0.3 percent to 94.84.
