Highlights
A burst of warm, dry weather drove consumers to the stores for seasonal goods, according to ICSC-UBS's report for the March 24 week that showed a 0.2 percent week-on-week rise and a very sharp year-on-year pace of 4.6 percent. The gain for the year-on-year pace, which was only 2.7 percent in the March 17 week, is due to this year's earlier Easter that has pulled promotions into March. But the report really stressed the impact of weather as this March is shaping up to be one of the very warmest on record.
