Highlights
Chain-store sales proved soft in the Oct. 6 week and for the month of September, according to the ICSC-UBS weekly report. ICSC-UBS's same-store sales index was unchanged in the week at a soft 2.1 percent year-on-year pace, just a bit over the 2.0 percent pace that the report sees September sales coming in at. The report said the month was hurt by unusually warm weather that depressed sales of seasonal items and by concerns over the economy.
